This new album, of John Challenger’s organ arrangement of Holst’s The Planets, is the culmination of a two-year-long community musical project at Salisbury Cathedral. The Planets Project featured The Planets in Challenger’s new arrangement for the Salisbury Cathedral organ, in education work with local schools, Salisbury Cathedral’s Education Department, and the music charity La Folia.

Now this special arrangement of Holst’s evocative suite has been recorded for a new double-release from Salisbury Cathedral: a full-length film on YouTube (The Planets – Out of Darkness), and this CD, where the audio may be heard at full resolution.
