Hong Kong High-End Audio Visual Show 2026

As a first time visitor to the Hong Kong Show, and having heard great things about it, I arrived with high spirits and much enthusiasm.

The show did not disappoint. It’s easy to sit at hi-fi+ towers feeling removed from reality, but I hoped the world shared our enthusiasm for all things high-end. Discovering that this reaches further than the familiar European and North American circuit.

Now in its 24th year, the show attracts significant names across the manufacturing spectrum, whether the manufacturers represent themselves or use local dealers and distributors. It doesn’t take long to realise why Hong Kong has long enjoyed a reputation for one of the world’s most serious audio markets. Visitors to this show bring deep knowledge and take our industry very seriously.

The scale of the show impresses, albeit dwarfed by the sheer size of the Hong Kong Convention Centre. Spanning two floors and one exhibition hall, the venue made it obvious that a visitor could not possibly see everything.

Some of the demo rooms are vast! Many house 4 systems that play on rotation, so the listener only needs to rotate their chair 90 degrees every 30 minutes or so.

As expected, some of the systems on display command lofty price tags. Hearing components in different paired systems interested me; very often across the western world manufacturers work together, meaning you will see the same speaker, cable, and electronics system. Here I witnessed unexpected and refreshing new combinations.

Below, you will find a small selection of the show’s offerings, focusing mainly on the display rooms.

Rogers

Legendary speaker manufacturer Rogers who are known for their BBC monitors had both a static display and a listening booth in Hall 3. Look out for the PM510 S3 (which use Cardas Copper Terminals) review coming soon to hi-fi+ issue 262 – December issue.

Audio Group Denmark

There are few exhibition halls where the Børresen M8 Gold Signature speakers don’t feel imposing. Here they didn’t, sitting along side the Aavik M880 mono blocks.

The speakers stand at over 2.2m high and weigh in at 325kg a piece, with a cool price tag of €1,000,000 a pair and the mono blocks €100,000 each! This system sat comfortably in the room, with space and air around it, and it was impressive! It was precise and tight. The system had a total synergy.

Given that all components come from one parent company it should be surprising!

Also within this room, which was presented by Zesen hifi were some other pretty impressive systems which included manufacturers such as Linn, Luxman, Chord Electronics, Vivid Audio, Graham Fidelity (also known as Graham Audio), Electrocompaniet, Falcon Acoustics, Manley Labs, REL, EAR Yoshino images below:

Siltech Group

This is a company from whom you can purchase almost a full system, here paired with Burmester. The Siltech group were demonstrating the Sphinx 5. I returned to listen a number of times. Just when I thought I’d heard the best from this system, it kept getting better! hi-fi+ reviewed this superb speaker in our March Issue.

The Sphinx Element 3 appeared on the Richcoln Company Limited’s stand, alongside Wattson Audio. Other manufacturers here were CH Precision, Thorens, Spendor and inakustik.

Purist Audio

This room contained some real gems – Wilson Benesch, Lindemann, Vitus Audio, Audio Research, estelon to name a few.

Goldmund, TARA Labs, Kalista

This was one system curated by Fung Ning Audio in a vast exhibition room. These Gaia loudspeakers are listed at £800,000 a pair.

Another system in this room consisted of the Kharma Enigma Veyron costing a mere £564,000! Adding to this Wadax, HSE Swiss, and more Goldmund: this was a system to be reckoned with. In fact I noticed guests waiting 30 minutes before the scheduled demonstration to get a seat.

The room hosted by Roksan Trading Co. was a room that was constantly full of people and access was very limited. It is unsurprising when the room contained the likes of Nordost, Magico, Raidho, Dan D’Agostino and SIMAUDIO.

FIM Ltd, had a room which consisted of more big hitters, including Cardas Audio, Focal, Naim, Jeff Rowland, Franco Serblin, and IsoAcoustics

This following room was hosted by Grand Asia hi-fi

emmLabs, ISOL-8, CAD, EgglestonWorks, Boulder

It showed the Viginti from EgglestoneWorks, the Boulder 3060 power amp, sitting ‘boldly’ in the centre of the room and surrounded with some very clever technology from the likes of ISOL-8 and CAD. Staring at me in the middle of the system is the slightly strange looking Boulder 3010 pre amp, I always struggle with the display on this, but as a 10 year old product it has stood the test of time!

Visiting Richcom Audio Visual Group, I saw Wilson Audio, dCS, Transparent Audio, Constellation and Soulution Audio. This room, like many others was full up and whilst there was music playing, there was also much chatter, so it was difficult to get a proper chance to listen well.

These Sasha’s were a beautiful shade of purple.

CH Precision and Wattson Audio were making sweet sounds as per usual.

As you will see from the above, the exhibitors didn’t do anything by halves!

This is a high-end show with an emphasis on high-end. Many of these systems cost as much as a very comfortable house. But whilst these extremes don’t represent most of our own hi-fi experiences, the exhibitors aim to show what engineers and designers can achieve when they remove the usual constraints and pursue excellence, with less regard for cost or size. In general I observed the impressive to spectacular, but occasional experiences reminded me that spending more doesn’t always result in better.

Attendance struck me the most. Some of these rooms were vast, and visitors packed all of them. At previous shows if a room is full, attendees will come back another time. Here, however, if visitors pack a room, they shuffle in to cram it further! That showed to me that enthusiasts in Hong Kong hold as serious an enthusiasm for high-end as ever.

This show wasn’t a lesson in budget hi-fi, far from it, but a reminder how gloriously uncompromising our belovéd industry can be!
