7 November 2024 – Thanks to extensive enhancements, the astonishing performance of their forerunners has been elevated to the next level – not just in terms of sound quality but also with regard to design and aesthetic refinements. As a result, ELAC has once again achieved an exceptional price/performance ratio for what is quite simply an exceptional overall package. The Debut 3.0 series sets new standards and shows what is possible even at an affordable price point with innovation, creativity, and the relentless pursuit of perfection.
Stunning sound and unique looks…
ELAC is always moving forward. In their ongoing pursuit of perfection, our developers and engineers focus on all aspects to optimize existing or create new and innovative technologies. In this context, reworking the Debut 2.0 series certainly presented a challenge. After all, the company already offered exceptional acoustic performance that pushed the boundaries in this price category. As a result, the goal was not only to set new standards of sound quality but also to lead the way in terms of design as well as material quality and workmanship.
Expertly combined…
To this end, ELAC combined proven characteristic features, selectively optimized at strategically important points, with complete, bespoke innovations for the Debut 3.0 speakers. The tweeter, which is used in all models in the series, is only the start. The one-inch aluminum dome was specially developed for the Debut 3.0 and boasts numerous innovations that enable significantly improved sound. Aluminum offers outstanding acoustic properties thanks to its stiffness and lightness. The waveguide is optimized to ensure excellent directivity for an immersive experience, while the newly developed and distinctive phase plug boosts efficiency at selected frequencies thereby optimizing the amplitude response. This results in a wealth of detail, remarkable clarity, and exceptional consistency throughout the high-frequency range.
A low/midrange driver with an aramid fiber diaphragm handles the lower frequency ranges. This diaphragm material was carried over due to its excellent properties and guarantees the same faithful, precise reproduction of low frequencies. For the lowest frequencies, the aramid fiber woofers impress with their minimal distortion and lightning-fast response. These upgrades along with improved directional characteristics and optimized crossovers represent the biggest step forward and guarantee a harmonious, balanced, and detailed overall sound.
Reinforced bodywork…
Attention was also lavished on the new cabinet. All Debut 3.0 models, from the three-way floorstanding speakers to the compact and center models, are fitted with internal bracing. This enabled a further dramatic reduction in cabinet resonance and vibrations in what is already an extremely rigid cabinet made of 5/8-inch MDF. The floorstanding speakers also feature separate chambers for the dedicated high-frequency, midrange, and low-frequency drivers.
Elegant minimalism…
The entire Debut 3.0 series is characterized by an elegant and timeless aesthetic based on clear design principles. The Black Ash vinyl on the cabinet combines with the matte black finish on the front baffle to blend seamlessly into every domestic setting. The distinctive phase plug, the screwless integrated drivers, and the soft-touch surface create stylish accents. The Debut 3.0 series now also features magnetically secured grilles, which further enhance the elegant appearance and can be quickly removed to reveal the elegant drive units on a front baffle uncluttered by attachment points.
Flexible combination options…
The Debut 3.0 series includes a total of seven loudspeaker models. Both the larger DF63 and the DF53 are three-way floorstanding speakers with an identical number of drivers. Both models are ideally suited for medium to large rooms, and the slender profile of the DF53 will look particularly elegant and unobtrusive in your home. They are complemented by the two bookshelf speakers DB63 and DB53. The slightly larger of these, in particular, has big shoes to fill but takes the sound of its predecessor another significant step further and will delight even the most discerning audiophiles.
The Debut 3.0 speakers are an excellent choice both for stereo and multichannel applications, and ELAC offers two center speakers (DC63 and DC53) for maximum flexibility. The driver sizes in the bookshelf and center models follow those of the floorstanding speakers and match the diameters used in the large and smaller model respectively. Last but not least, there is also the DA43 atmos/on-wall speaker, whose identical aluminum dome tweeter and single aramid fiber woofer make it the perfect partner for larger home cinema setups.
